Here we are going to provide you Chromium malware removal instructions that will help you to uninstall & remove Chromium virus & rogue Chromium-based browsers from your Windows computer.

 

Actually, Chromium is one of the legitimate open-source web browser projects that form on the basis of the Google Chrome browser, but malware writers are using its name and using Chromium to push malicious code on the user's computers.

Whether you use the Google Chrome browser or not, this virus can get into your computer. There are several Chromium-based browsers that are doubtful in nature that can sneak into your system and compromise it. They could track you, collect information, steal sensitive data, display advertisements, and popups, engage in Identity Theft, or cause browser redirects.

 

BeagleBrowser, BrowserAir, BoBrowser, Chedot, eFast, Fusion, MyBrowser, Olcinium, Pelikan, Qword, Tortuga, Torch are some of the suspicious Chromium-based browsers that engage in such tactics.

 

The common entry methods for Chromium virus are from free downloads. Since these PUPs sneak into your computer, it is important that you be alert using the installation of any software and ensure that it or other third-party offers are not hidden under the Advanced or Custom Install option.

 

Once in, it will take over all file associations, hijack URL associations, and also set itself as the default browser and change your browser homepage and default search engine as well.

Uninstall Chromium malware

 

If you find that you are infected with the Chromium malware, I suggest you do the following:

 

Close all your browsers and open the Task Manager. You will see a Chromium process running. End all the chrome.exe or chromium.exe process that you see.

 

Next open Control Panel then open Programs and features and check if you see a Chromium or any other suspicious entry. If you do, uninstall Chromium at once.

 

As a matter of more precaution, you could also open C:\Users\username\AppData\Local hidden folder and delete the Chromium folder. If you are using the Google Chrome browser, this folder will re-populate itself automatically with genuine data.

 

Next, open your installed browsers and go through all the installed browser add-ons and ex10sions. If you find anything suspicious or doubtful nature, uninstall or remove it.
