Desktop Support Manager


The Desktop Support Administrator provides infrastructure support to customer employees by responding to all incoming service requests for computers / laptops. The individual will accept, install, and repair computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other computers in the organization.

One of the key responsibilities of administrators is to improve technology within the organization and improve the end-user experience of internal and remote employees. They respond to calls and emails to solve desktop environment problems. They perform service desk functions and daily functional tasks, including updating and configuring computer systems and license tracking.

Technicians must provide first class customer services. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Officials must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as they must communicate complex concepts in a simple way to people with non-technical backgrounds. Must be able to strictly comply with schedules.


Job Description


Administrators organize and configure computers, such as desktops / laptops, printers, copiers, scanners, and faxes. They work with business application teams and server administrators for appropriate projects. Technicians evaluate third-party applications for implementation and integration into existing business processes. They install new computers and peripherals.


Administrators set up the computer system for new employees. User preferences are moved and the file is migrated and changed as necessary. Technicians provide second-level support to the helpdesk. It provides modifications and corrections for installed programs.


Educational qualifications and other requirements

Desktop support officials must hold a university degree or a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields. Must have experience in scripting languages, such as Perl, Shell, Python, etc. Technicians must have experience in operating systems, such as Linux, Windows, or macOS. If they have a CompTIA A + and Network + certificate, it will be useful. Systems management experience will give them an edge over other candidates.


The average salary of a desktop support official is $ 46,532 a year in the United States. Professionals who want to work alone can earn up to $ 20.95 an hour, according to Payscale.
